How to Add a Hosted Subdomain to Your Website with SSL Support

If you want to use your domain as a vanity domain to access your RentMy store with SSL/TLS support. This guide includes steps for setting up the vanity domain:

Step 1: Choose Your Subdomain

Decide on a subdomain name you'd like to use for your RentMy storefront. Examples:

  • rentals.yourdomain.com
  • store.yourdomain.com
  • book.yourdomain.com

Step 2: Point Your Subdomain to RentMy

Step #2: Create / Update Record to point subdomain to RentMy

Log in to your domain registrar or DNS provider (such as GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc.) and add the following DNS record:

Record TypeDomain NameValue
Arentals.yourdomain.com3.141.141.45

Replace "rentals" with the actual subdomain you’ve chosen.

Once you point the domain to the IP, the default RentMy Store Page will be displayed.

Important: Both records may appear identical in name and value, but AWS typically requires both a root domain and wildcard domain record. Add both as provided.

Step 3: Notify RentMy Support

Once the DNS record is added, email help@rentmy.co with:

Your custom subdomain (e.g., rentals.yourdomain.com) Confirmation that the DNS record were added

We will verify the DNS setup and finalize SSL provisioning and Domain setup.

Once the setup is done, Support Team will be reverted on the same email thread with the confirmation that domain and SSL setup is done and store is now accessible through the vanity domain.nd finalize SSL provisioning.

Step 4: Wait for SSL Certificate Activation

It can take up to 30 minutes for AWS to verify the CNAME records and activate the certificate. Once verified, your RentMy store will be accessible via your custom subdomain with a secure HTTPS connection.
